Equalities

Equalities provides support for specific groups of pupils and their families as well as working to ensure that Children's Services and schools meet their statutory duties under equalities legislation. Our core equalities work is led by Susan Twemlow(Service Director) and is supported by the Asylum Seeker and Refugee Support Team, the Nottingham Traveller Team and the Equalities Officer.

Key activities include:-

  • Focusing Children's Services policy towards redressing the inequalities experienced by disadvantaged groups
  • Engaging communities in the achievement debate and the development of Children's Services policy
  • Supporting schools and the LA in being compliant with legal duties related to equal opportunities
  • Ensuring Children's Services works in accordance with corporate equalities and community policies

If you have any queries or feedback regarding Equalities work or issues relating to it, please contact Catherine Conchar.
