Construction work begins on new city schools
Work begins this week on the construction of Nottingham Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme.
The first turf will be cut today (Monday, 7 July 7) on the site of the new special school (Centre of Excellence) the Oak Field School and Specialist Sports College at Bilborough, one of three schools being rebuilt or remodelled as part of the BSF programme. Pupils from all the schools will join Councillor David Mellen, Nottingham City Council’s Portfolio Holder for Children’s Services, to break the ground at the Bilborough campus. (7th July 2008)

Nottingham Schools Internet Service Changes
As you may already be aware, the service provider responsible for delivering services to the East Midlands Broadband Consortium (EMBC) has changed from Fujitsu Services to Synetrix. The new contract for this service began on the 1st of April 2008. (1st May 2008)

Nottingham pupils to get computers at home
Nottingham teenagers who don’t have a computer at home could be given one to help them with school work thanks to the Computers for Pupils scheme. Nottingham City Council has received £1.8 million Government funding to provide computers or laptops with internet access to at least 2,200 secondary school pupils in the City. (19th Feb 2008)
